
Abu Ali al-Husayn ibn Sina, also known by his Latinized name Avicenna (c 980 - 1037) was a physician and early psychologist. He had written over 450 treatises in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. His most famous work was The Book of Healing. His philosophical (early psychology) and scientific textbooks were used in universities as late as 1650. This Persian was also an astronomer, chemist, geologist, and physicist.
